delving into geography, history, science, and mathematics related to
Antarctica.
1. Collaborative
Exploration: The primary objective is to foster collaboration among teachers in
the fields of geography, history, science, and mathematics to create a
comprehensive concept web related to Antarctica. This collaboration enables a
holistic exploration of the region, incorporating its geography, history,
science, and mathematical dimensions.
2. Multidisciplinary
Learning: The objective is to provide students with a multidisciplinary
approach to studying Antarctica. This approach allows students to delve into
various concepts, including geography, climate, polar ice caps, glaciology,
physics, Antarctic ecosystems, species adaptations, and mathematical data
analysis. It enriches their understanding of the continent by integrating
knowledge from multiple disciplines.
Time: 75 min
Activity Four: Timeline of
Shackleton's Voyage
Objective:
To facilitate the development of a chronological understanding of Shackleton's
expedition through timeline-making.
1. The
timeline-making activity aims to facilitate students in developing a
chronological understanding of Shackleton's expedition. By constructing a
timeline, students will visually map out the sequence of significant events,
enhancing their comprehension of the expedition's challenges and milestones.

Expression: The primary objective is to foster creative expression among
students through art-integrated activities such as adventure story writing,
picture story creation, drama performances, and narrative reinterpretation from
diverse perspectives
2. Comprehensive
Engagement: The activities aim to engage students comprehensively in the
challenges and experiences of Shackleton's expedition. By participating in
story writing, creating visual narratives, enacting dramatic portrayals, and
rewriting the narrative from different narrators' viewpoints, students gain a
multifaceted understanding of leadership, resilience, and survival in the
unforgiving Antarctic environment.
Time: 120 min
Activity Six: Position the men on
the Endurance
Objective:
To position the crew members of Shackleton's Endurance expedition on an
organogram, illustrating their profiles, roles, and duties, while exploring leadership and team dynamics
within the crew.
1. Students
will be able to identify and describe the key roles and responsibilities of
each crew member on the Endurance expedition, demonstrating an understanding of
the team structure.
2. Students
will analyze how leadership and teamwork were essential for the survival of the
crew during the Endurance expedition
Time:
