Symbols that Shape Nations
|
This activity introduces students to how nations use
visual symbols and personifications to express identity, unity, and political
values. By examining global examples and comparing them with Abanindranath
Tagore’s Bharat Mata, learners explore how imagery shapes nationalism and
deepen their understanding of the Bharatiya concept of Rāṣṭra. |

Describe how your symbol would inspire unity and pride.
Think & conclude: Reflective driving question
How do national symbols—especially Bharat Mata and Vande Mataram—shape the way people imagine the idea of Rāṣṭra? In what ways can such imagery support the vision of Akhand Bharat and inspire the collective responsibility needed for building a Viksit Bharat?
